OWB 9.2.0.4 Patchset Now Available
February 23rd, 2004 by Mark Rittman
Mark
Van De Wiel has advised that the 9.2.0.4 patchset for Oracle Warehouse
Builder 9.2 is now available on metalink,
using patch ID 3443542.
The patch is currently available for Windows and Solaris, with patches for
Linux, HP-UX, AIX and Tru-64 expected within the next month.
The patchset addresses bugs and issues with the 9.2 release, and the
resultant upgraded 9.2.0.4 version of OWB is the version that the 10g release
will be based on. According
to Mark, the 10g version of OWB will be released around one week after the
Windows version of Oracle 10g Database, and the only difference between OWB 10g
and OWB 9.2.0.4 will be the support for Oracle Database 10g as a source and
target. The delay in the release of OWB10g is due to Oracle’s desire to wait
until Oracle Database 10g is released on Windows, as this is the primary
development platform for OWB users.
The patch needs to be applied to both client and server, and is platform
independent; i.e. the same patch is supplied for both Windows and Unix.
When OWB 10g comes out, it’ll be included into the 10g Developer Suite bundle
(it’s currently missing from the developer preview version), with the server
side elements eventually being bundled
in by default with the 10g Database install.
