Cary Millsap and Gary Goodman Speaking At UKOUG UNIX SIG
September 5th, 2004 by Mark Rittman
If you’re in the UK and Ireland and interested in Oracle tuning, you’ll be
interested to know that Cary Millsap and Gary Goodman are presenting at the
next UKOUG UNIX SIG meeting on the 28th September. Their presentation is
entitled
"Profiling Oracle, How it Works" and has the following synopsis.
"Conventional Oracle "tuning" methods are outrageously complex, and they
don’t work. For more than three decades, good software developers have known
how to optimize computer-executed tasks using a simple method that works every
time. This presentation describes how to use this method in an Oracle
environment, and it demonstrates the method’s use with an example."
It’s on September 28th at
Baylis House,
Slough, and you can
register online at the UKOUG website. First place is free for UKOUG member
organisations, and non-members can also attend for £160 + VAT fee. There’s also
presentations by Oracle’s Joel Goodman on
ASM,
together with ones by Sun, Oracle Support and Veriton. Full details on the
UKOUG website.
