Business Intelligence Suite
April 5th, 2006 by Peter Scott
Recently, Oracle announced their Business Intelligence Suite with the immediate availability of the Enterprise and Standard editions. The Standard edition contains much of the original Oracle toolset and the Enterprise edition owes much of its heritage to Siebel Analytic Server. A third edition is due to follow in the summer; this contains the same analytic engine as the Enterprise edition but will also include a database and Oracle Warehouse Builder – perhaps this will be OWB “Paris”
Looking through OTN and all the Oracle Partner material I have access to I can find lots on of information on the Standard Edition but little at all on the Enterprise edition. OK, I found the license costs but no real information on how to deploy, what hardware is required for a given user base, and perhaps more relevant access to demonstration material. Perhaps I’m looking in the wrong place

Err…no, you’re not looking in the wrong place, it’s not available for download yet, contrary to Oracle’s statements that it was available for deployment now.
You can download the Siebel Analytics software (version 7.8) from http://edelivery.oracle.com) and have a play around with that, but Oracle’s statements are that the BI Suite Enterprise Edition will be ~ 50/50 Oracle/Siebel software, so expect some difference between Siebel’s last offering and Oracle’s first offering (mainly around infrastructure, BAM and so on). Other than that, all that’s on OTN at the moment is just marketing stuff.

Does anyone know when the Oracle BI Suite EE will be available for download?
