OOW 2007 Blogger Meetup : Thirsty Bear, Tuesday 13th Nov, 7pm
October 16th, 2007 by Mark Rittman
It’s only a few weeks now to Oracle Open World 2007 in San Francisco, and in what is now a tradition I’m organizing another blogger meetup, at the Thirsty Bear Bar and Restaurant, Howard Street, for the Tuesday night (13th November).
This is now the third year we’ve had a blogger meet-up, the first year at a restaurant, last year also at the Thirsty Bear. If you’re a blogger and you’re interested in coming along, we’ll be meeting around 7pm in the main bar area, just come along, introduce yourself and we’ll all make you welcome. Add a comment to this post if you plan to come, and also add a link to this post on your own blog to put the word around.
Here’s a picture from last year, at the Thirsty Bear:

And here’s one from the year before last:

See you all in San Francisco.

I’ll be there can’t wait. I need a week off from client work soon. I’m just hoping I get the RFID demo done by the Unconference.

Mark,
Thanks for organising this but I don’t think I’ll be coming along this year. I don’t really like beer or food much.
Cheers,

Count me in.
Doug: Can’t any of the boys make it?
October 17th, 2007 at 11:45 am
Doug - we can ask them to lay on some kids food, sausage rolls, fish fingers and so on, and some especially weak beer for you - would that help…?
p.s. we have actually got a tab from Oracle this time, so there’ll be a complementary bar for a while. Thanks to Vikki from the ACE/OTN program.

“we have actually got a tab from Oracle this time”
Woah, that is special…

I would not have posted that publicly, I know people who will create a blog for an hour of free beer. Honest truth, I should know I’m one of them.

Deal …
there’ll be a complementary bar for a while.
… definitely!
Can’t any of the boys make it?
Mmmm, I’ve been keeping ‘a trip to America’ quiet (although The Dog has been to Dallas). I’m not sure they’d be that interested in any case after the Edinburgh Castle fiasco, but let’s wait and see.

Hi Andrew,
By “Oracle”, do you mean bloggers who work at Oracle Corporation? Don’t know, but we should ask - I’ll post a message on one of the Oracle Corp. blogs (the Appslab one, perhaps?)
regards, Mark

Hi all,
Turns out I have a working dinner tuesday night at 7:30. I may see how far away this is from that. If it’s not too far, I might drop in. I had a great time meeting everyone last year.
I’ll have to scan some maps. If not, I know I will see a lot of you on Sunday or tuesday during the day.
