Its interesting that you haven't got room for a mention of Oracle Warehouse Builder. Is that because it has been superceded by Oracle Data Integrator (which I must admit is a new product to me) and that it has been taken out of the back of the Moscone center and shot?

Great insight and post on OOW, it's insightful to have some background on the Oracle BI strategy and approach in this market. We provided a quick summary on our blog which hopefully can drive some traffic to you--

Vincent,

It'll be an alternative to Informatica, rather than something you use as well as it. Don't know if it's part of a plan to push Informatica out, many customers are keen Informatica users and have standardized on this technology. What ODI may well bring to things is closer integration with OBIEE, this may be something Oracle can leverage to make it a more seamless experience. We'll have to wait and see.

regards

Mark

When they say "ODI will complement Informatica" in OBIEE does that mean it will be an alternative to Informatica or run alongside Informatica? If it's the former it looks like a strategy to slowly push Informatica out as it's probably going to be cheaper (like OWB). If it's the latter I have to wonder what ODI would bring that Informatica didn't already have.
