A Site Makeover

March 15th, 2008 by Mark Rittman

If you’re reading this blog via our website rather than the RSS feed, you’d have probably noticed that we’ve had a bit of a makeover. All of the old content is still available, but now we’ve got a shiny new design that’ll be reflected in our marketing materials, presentations and so on. We’ll also be rolling out our new visual identity at the UKOUG BI & Performance Management Special Event in London next week, so if you’re coming along be sure to pop along to our stand and say hello.

The other new thing about the blog is that Peter Scott, Borkur Steingrimsson and Jon Mead will also be contributing, and you can see their names and links to their posts on the right-hand side of the page. Let us know if you spot any broken links, and hopefully we should be migrating the posts over from Pete’s blog in the next few days.

The site looks fantastic! May I ask if it was developed on an Oracle product? (portal/webcenter/apex)

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the kind words! No, actually, no Oracle software was used in the site construction, our web development/graphic design people I guess used tools like Adobe Illustrator and Dreamweaver, the site itself runs using Wordpress which we’ve turned into a CMS through a few nifty CSS files and a few plugins. We did consider using ApEx but it seemed overkill for what we were after, plus the URLs it generates aren’t particularly search engine friendly.
