Mark,

I really wanted to attend your session on decision automation at OpenWorld, but I won't get there until Tuesday. Drop me a note at neil@smartenoughsystems.com if you have a few minutes Tues-Thurs to get together.

Another speculative story, this time generously crediting Mr. Rittman's comments:

This was picked up by The Register today:

Speculation around a hardware tie-up with HP and use of SSD and some fancy compression... stay tuned.

Dunno, but I bet it is what Kevin was referring to here:
"The fact is that I am heads down doing performance work on a product that I cannot speak about until Oracle OpenWorld."

http://kevinclosson.wordpress.com/2008/06/12/the-rumors-of-my-demise/
and
http://kevinclosson.wordpress.com/2008/06/26/of-gag-orders-excitement-and-new-products/

I'm guessing something closer to the storage/disk level then. Maybe a way of keeping certain bits of data in a disk (SSD ?) cache, somewhere between SGA and conventional disk.
