Concerning isolated data marts: in the projects I particpate at a large telecom service provider, most of the dimensions in TR/DW are enterprise-wide conformed (e.g. Product, Customer). But for each new information need, dimensions can be designed that only apply to the new, isolated data marts. During a project, the information need is analyzed and audited by an in-company department to meet the Dutch regulation rules. Interesting interview.
