Photos from Atlanta Oracle BI Training Days 2010

Well, the Oracle BI 11g Training Days event in Atlanta is now over, and I'm about to get on a flight back to the UK after spending the weekend in downtown Atlanta. The event was another great success, and thanks to Stewart and the team for working so hard during the week. Thanks also, of course, to all the great attendees who spend three days taking a deep-dive into the new 11g release of Oracle Business Intelligence.

With another forty or so installs under our belt, I think we've probably hit most of the possible install issues now (a new one this week was certain Dell laptops having their Wifi drivers over-ride the loopback adapter, causing issues down the line with the FMW11g install), and delegates were able to spend three days exploring such new features as RPD lookups and double columns, Essbase integration, the Action Framework, BI Publisher 11g and vertical/horizontal scale-out and clustering. A hot topic this time around was security, and so we put together an extra lesson and demonstrations to show how application roles and security now worked, and how integration with Active Directory now works with 11g.

Stewart arranged a great restaurant for the second night, where delegates joined us for a fantastic meal, wine and conversation, and I was certainly impressed with the brand-new Georgia Tech Learning Center where we held the classes. Thanks again to the Georgia Tech team who helped make the event a success.

So it's off to Bangalore in a week's time to run the last of the current Training Days series, where we'll be joining Venkat and the team to show OBIEE 11g to some of Bangalore's top Oracle BI developers. We're likely to be re-running the event in February 2011, so if you're interested be sure to drop me an email at [email protected].
