Next BIRT SIG Meeting on 25th May, London

The next meeting of the UKOUG Business Intelligence & Reporting Tools SIG is taking place on Wednesday, 25th May at the Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place London.

We've got a number of excellent speakers lined up, including Oracle's Andy Gleave on Extending Daily Business Intelligence with Performance Management Designer, Aiden Irwin on REPORTS- Past, Present and Future and Mike Evans, from Oracle Consulting, on Implementing Performance Management Systems. Chris Stanley, from Energis and a SIG regular, is speaking about Real-Time OLAP Directly from ERP:How Energis improved financial data transparency, and Martin Cooper, our SIG "buddy" is giving an update on Oracle's new Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing products.

Just after lunch we're running an open session on future BIRT SIG themes. Since the SIG rebranding we've had an influx of new members looking for information on general applications reporting, and in addition a few people have spoken to me about getting presenters in from third-party vendors such as Cognos and Business Objects. What we'd like to do in this session is get some feedback on what you'd like to see the SIG cover in future events, perhaps get some ideas and volunteers to speak or help out, and talk about whether we'd like to extend a welcome to other BI tools suppliers who have customers running on an Oracle database.

There's still a few places left so book soon to avoid disappointment. Note also that the venue has changed for this meeting - we're normally at Oracle City Office - so make sure you print out the map and hopefully we'll see you all on the 25th.
