Rittman Mead at Collaborate'11, Orlando

I'm currently sitting opposite Tom Kyte in the speaker lounge at the OUGN Conference, actually sailing down from Oslo to Kiel, Germany in the MS Color Magic, the cruise liner that's playing host to the event. Each year, OUGN (the Norwegian Oracle User Group) holds its annual conference on a 2-day cruise, and this year I'm here with such people as Tom, Bryn Llewelyn, Sten Vesterli, Larry Carpenter, Melanie Caffrey, Joel Goodman and Doug Burns. It's a great two-day event (though you do come back with a bit of a sore head), and a great way of limbering-up for Collaborate'11, which starts this Sunday in Orlando, Florida.

There's four of us from Rittman Mead going over to Orlando this year, but unfortunately Venkat couldn't make it as his second child is due any day (good luck, Venkat and Mrs. V) We'll be there over the four days of the event, and I'm also helping organize the BIWA BI Bootcamp on the Monday and Tuesday. Here's the line-up of our sessions:

  • Tuesday, April 12th 8am - 9am , 304A: Mark Rittman, "BIWA Bootcamp : KPIs and Scorecards using OBIEE 11g"
  • Tuesday, April 12th 3.15pm - 4.15pm, 303C : Borkur Steingrimsson, "Oracle Golden Gate : What's all the Fuss About?"
  • Wednesday, April 13th, 1.00pm - 2.00pm, 303C : Mark Rittman, Oracle Business Intelligence 11g Architecture and Internals"
  • Wednesday, April 13th 4.00pm - 5.00pm, 304A : Stewart Bryson, "Real-Time Data Warehousing with Oracle Business Intelligence and Oracle Database"
  • Thursday, April 14th 8.30am - 9.30am, 303C : Peter Scott, "Adding Externally-Sourced Data to a Business Intelligence Solution"

We'll also be out and about at the conference, so if you see one of us and you have an Oracle BI or DW question, just let us know. Otherwise, if you're going to Collaborate, have a great time, and don't forget there's a 25% discount for our BI Forum in May for Collaborate'11 and Kscope'11 attendees - offer runs through to April 15th 2011.
