OBIEE 11g Training Days - New Dates and Venues Announced

I'm pleased to announce that, due to popular demand, we're going back out on the road again and running another set of OBIEE 11g Training Days events in early 2011. We're going back to Atlanta and Bangalore, but this time around we're also visiting Brussels, Belgium and Johannesburg, South Africa. If you're either just testing out OBIEE 11g, or you're thinking of adopting it in the New Year, this is a must-attend event for you.

Over three days, we'll be covering OBIEE 11g from architecture and configuration through to analyses, dashboards, scorecards and the Action Framework. The event is fast-paced and aimed at developers and BI managers who have experience with the 10g release and want to get quickly up-to-speed with OBIEE 11g. This time around and based on feedback from the last events, we're making a couple of changes in that we're asking you to do the install before you get to the event, and we're swapping out the Essbase lesson for one on OBIEE 11g Security. By removing the install part of the class (which took the best part of the first day) we should have a lot more time for the hands-on labs, and security was the #1 topic not on the agenda last time that everyone was asking for.

The topics we'll be covering over the three days are as follows:

  1. OBIEE 11g Architecture, Systems Management and FMW11g Integration
  2. Best Practices for OBIEE 11g RPD Design and Metadata Modeling
  3. Analysis, Visualizations and Dashboards using OBIEE 11g
  4. Actionable Intelligence using OBIEE 11g
  5. Creating Scorecards and KPIs using OBIEE 11g
  6. Scaleout, Clustering and High Availability using OBIEE 11g
  7. Upgrading OBIEE 10g Installations to OBIEE 11g
  8. OBIEE 11g and Fusion Middleware Security

As before, the format is lectures, plus optional hands-on labs. If you can get hold of a laptop with a minimum of 3GB of RAM (4GB is better, 6-8GB is best) and a copy of Windows XP SP2 or Windows Server 2003, either installed direct to your laptop or in a VMWare virtual machine, and you have a licensed (full or OTN Developer license) copy of OBIEE 11g + Oracle 11gR2, you can bring them along and practice during the hands-on lab sessions.

The number of attendees at each event is strictly limited to 30, with one trainer per 10 delegates, and the venues and dates are as follows:

  • Feb 22-24 Atlanta - Georgia Tech, Atlanta
  • March 1-3 Johannesburg - Oracle Woodmead, Johannesburg (sponsored by Oracle South Africa)
  • March 7-9 Brussels - Marriott Courtyard, Brussels
  • March 21-23 Bangalore - The Zuri Hotel, Whitefield, Bangalore

The cost of the event is €1200 + VAT in Belgium, $1500 in Atlanta, Rs.25,000 + taxes in Bangalore and R7000 + taxes in Johannesburg. For the Johannesburg event, Oracle will be organizing the billing and registration, whereas for the others, we'll be doing it. For all venues, start off though by emailing [email protected] to reserve a place, and we'll sort it from there.

Full details on the event, including details of the locations, prerequisites and agenda, can be found here. If you're interested in how the previous events went, here's the blog posts we made after each one:

If you're interested in attending make sure you book now though, as we sold out of places several weeks in advance of all venues last time, and had to turn people away. Hopefully we'll see you at one of the events!
